Carved Pumpkins

Here are the finished pumpkins. I hope you enjoy!!!!!
Megan sitting by her pumpkin. The light flashes and I took this at the wrong time.
Alex next to his. He has a strange color light in his but it doesn't flash so it was much easier to take.
Here they both are. They loaded up the pumpkins into the trailer tonight so they can put them outside at camp this weekend. I hope everyone enjoys them. I told them they should go trick or treating at camp also but they just laughed at me. I guess it's a good thing I sent a bag of candy with them. :)

Pumpkin Patch

We made a trip down to the pumpkin patch on Saturday so that the kids could get some pumpkins to carve. They were excited to get home and work on them.
It took us forever to park because it was so busy but we finally made it.
Alex was in charge of the wheel barrel. It started to get a bit heavy by the time we were done.
Megan can't decide which one she likes. There are way to many choices.
Now, they are both just being silly. :)
This is everything we ended up with. A wide variety of sizes.
We had a fun time getting pumpkins and they look really good carved. That will be posted soon!!!!!

Shed

We haven't been up to much around here lately so I decided I should post our new shed. Mike and Megan have been working very hard on it and it looks really good. The best part is that I can actually get my car in the garage now!!!!!
This is it before the roof and the paint.
Alex and his friend, Luke, decided they needed to build a fort with the extra shed material. They worked on it all afternoon. I think they were just having fun using the power tools to put it together.
They are finding some more scraps to attach to the fort.
There is the final project. It's all done already. They were quick once they got going but Mike didn't enjoy the roof. He doesn't think he would make a good professional roofer.

Fair Fun

We got to do all sorts of fun things at the fair this year and we got to see some pretty good shows.
Mike, Megan, and Alex are waiting for the Monster Truck show.
It was the first year the Monster Trucks were at the fair.
The Jason Aldean Show was really good. He is so easy on the eyes. :)
Mike and Megan went to the Julianne Hough and Rodney Adkins show. Megan was next in line to get Rodney's autograph when they made him stop. She was not happy at all!!!!!!
Megan and Mike waiting for the show to start.
I also got to go to the LeAnne Rimes show. I didn't have my camera with me though so just imagine me sitting there watching it. It was a good show also.
We had another great year doing the Puyallup. It is a lot of fun to work down there and see so many funny people.

Getting ready for the fair

I worked at the fair again this year with my Dad. The week before the fair starts is always a lot of fun. You start out the week with no one there and by Thursday you can't even drive through.
Tuesday morning, Easy driving. It's still empty.
All of the stands are set up but no one is working.
It's Wednesday and the cars are starting to arrive.
It is now Thursday. The fair starts tomorrow and it's a mad rush to get ready. If only some of these people had been smart enough to come early in the week they would have missed this last minute rush. The good news is that we got done with all of our work and were ready to open on Friday. :)

Labor Day Camping

We went camping for the long Labor Day Weekend. We had a good time but it was raining the whole weekend. We still managed to have plenty of fun we just spent most of our time under the tarps and in the trailer.
We got there on Friday night and it was pretty nice until we went to bed. It rained all night but then Saturday was nice until late afternoon. It started raining off and on until we went to bed again and then it poured.
Everyone catching up on their trashy magazines on Saturday. Before the rain has started.
The guys were making dinner.
The girls are having so much fun. They can't decide whether they want to get back in the lake or sit under the tarps. Either way they were going to end up wet.
The boys got to go over to the rope swing before the rain started. It really was nice out other than the black clouds.
The rain has started. Mike is trying to keep our fire going so we can stay warm.
We got up Sunday morning and everyone was packing up to go home. We decided to stay and Tony and Suzy came back so it ended up just being us for Sunday night.
Tony is making us some smore's to eat while Mike covers him with an umbrella.
We went and rented some movies to watch so we made our own version of a drive up movie theatre.
The kids got to go tubing one last time on Monday. They had a great time and they were the only ones on the lake.
We had a really fun weekend even though we were wet for a good portion of it. I guess that is what happens when you live in Washington.

First Day of School

It is hard to believe but it is time to start school again already. It feels like the summer just started and it is already time to go back to school!!!! We went to Alex's open house on Tuesday night. He got Mr. Smith for his teacher this year so he is very excited.
Megan is ready to go to the bus. It's her first day of 8th grade.
She is to cool to let me get her picture getting onto the bus so this is her waiting for the bus to arrive. There are High School kids on her bus so it wouldn't be good to have them see her Mom taking her picture.
Alex is ready to start 5th grade. He is excited for the new year.
He doesn't care if I take his picture at the bus. He didn't argue with me at all about it. I better enjoy that I am sure it won't happen much longer.
