Camping for the weekend

We got to go camping this weekend with our friends. We just go to Lake St. Clair in Lacey but it is always a lot of fun. Our friends Mark and Michelle have some lake property in their family so we get to use it a few times a year. We pack all 5 of our trailers there and we all swim and sit by the fire all weekend. It is really relaxing.
The kids had so much fun that they slept the whole way home.
They get as many people on the boat as possible. The kids love it but by the time they all get in there is no room for anyone else.

Our friends Scott, Michelle, and Bo (the dog). Korrie had to go to work on Saturday so you have to imagine her in the chair in the middle.

Pat, Tony and Suzy
Mark, Michelle, Kathy, and Bo again (He is so photogenic!!!!)

Suzy and Mike
All of the girls. Amanda, Madi, Megan M. Kristin and Megan B. The two Megan's are confusing but atleast someone answers when you yell their name.

Scott helped Alex go tubing behind the boat. He looks like he is having fun here but he managed to hit a bump and bite his tongue so he wasn't as happy looking when he got done. He still had a good time though. What would it be like if he didn't end up crying about something??????

Megan went off of the rope swing. This would be the same one that I broke my finger on last year. All of the kids can do it without any problem but I end up having to have pins put in my hand. How Sad!!!!!
The kids like to swim off of the end of the dock. They have so many water toys they can hardly walk on the dock.
Kristin, Megan, Megan and Devon
You have to imagine the other boys because they wouldn't let me take all of their pictures together. I guess they were to cool for that. Just imagine Alex, Ryan, Josh and Matt here. Don't they look good?

Last Day of School

It was the last day of school today and the kids were really excited. I had to get a picture of them getting on the bus for the last time. They will never be at the same school at the same time again so we had to get our final photo.
Megan, Alex, and the neighbor boy, Connor.
Alex is excited that he has made it to the fourth grade. He isn't to happy that you don't get as many recesses in the upper grades but he is happy to be moving on anyway.

The sixth graders were having a breakfast party this morning and Megan was in charge of the muffins. She was sure that she was going to cry by the end of the day but she was prepared. I asked her when she got home and she was right. She did cry but they were happy tears. She is really excited to be going to Junior High next year but is a little bit concerned about how we are going to make it to the bus by 7:00 am. I am actually a little worried about that myself. We will keep you posted on that.

We are to lazy to walk to the bus in the morning so we are waiting in the car for the last time.

Gymnastics Recital

Megan made it through another session of Gymnastics. I have no idea how many of these recital things we have been to but Megan really loves the class so we just keep going. She has been taking lessons for a long time now so I guess the least we can do it sit through an hour long presentation of their work.
They got to make up their own floor routines this time so that was alot of fun. Her's was really cute and she is getting pretty darn good at those flips.
This is a cart wheel half way completed.

The whole class gets medals after they are done. We also have a lot of these floating around the house. To bad they aren't actually worth something!!!!!
She did an awesome job on all of her skilss so hopefully she will improve some more on the next session. We take the summer off though so she won't start back until September.

Father's Day Weekend

We had a really busy weekend around our house. We had a lot of fun but we had so much to do that it just flew by. I really think that you should get three days off every weekend just to be able to catch up!!!!

I started Saturday off by running the Sound to Narrows "fun" run. It was 7.5 miles of hills. I have wanted to do it for several years but I always talk myself out of it so this year I was determined to make it through. It was definately hard but I made it in 1 hour 20 minutes. My goal was 1 1/2 hours so I beat that by 10 minutes. Yeah!!!! That is one thing that I can cross off of my list of things to accomplish in my life. I think that I might even try it again next year.

Saturday afternoon we were off to Alex's baseball party. We had a BBQ at one of the player's house. The boys had a really good time but the girls weren't to impressed. They just don't know how to have a good time!!!!!!

Alex and Ryan had a great time. The people had a heated pool at their house so the team spent the whole time in the water. They got out long enough to get their trophy's and eat and that was about it.

Alex was so excited when the coach brought up his great hit that he had. He literally had one hit all season but it was a memorable one. I think that will make him smiles for years to come!!!!!

We spent Saturday evening at Heidi's house. It was Jacob's 4th birthday. This is the really cool Batman outfit that someone was nice enough to buy him. I hope that it still fits him at Halloween.

The kids got to go for a scavenger hunt in a pool full of popcorn. It sounded like a really good idea until we were on day 3 of popping popcorn. It takes a lot of batches of corn to fill up a kiddie pool. :)
We finally made it to Sunday. It was Father's day so the kids are showing their love. We didn't do to much during the day. We worked in the yard and cleaned up around the house. Mike did want to go see a movie in the evening though so we all went and saw the Incredible Hulk. I think that he knew that the only way we would go with him was if it was Father's Day so he sucked us in and we all went. It was actually a pretty good movie but if he had asked any other day I would have laughed at him. That's not really my kind of movie. I seem to like a good comedy a little bit better. We had a fun day though and it was a good way to finish up the weekend.

Another School Event

Well, it is definately the end of the school year. They have all sorts of stuff going on at the school. This time is was Megan's sixth grade program. They sang "old" rock music all night. It was so old that it was Bon Jovi and Michael Jackson stuff. I guess that is considered old now.
Megan, Alex, and Jacob after the show. The lighting is so good in the gym that they all look green.
Megan, Maggi, and Sannah. They seem to be glued at the hips.

Heidi, Jacob, and Alex getting ready for the big show.

They are all ready to start. There where four classes of sixth graders singing so it was an interesting mix. The show was really good though so that made the hour go by pretty fast.
I don't know what I am going to write about after next week. The school year will be over. I guess I will have to take random pictures in the back yard!!!!!

School BBQ

Megan and Alex had a BBQ at school on Friday. Alex was really excited to tell me about it and make sure that I could come but Megan somehow forgot to mention it. Luckily I had the sign up sheet from Alex so I got to go down and see both of them at lunch time. Megan was so excited to find out that I was just stopping by her room to say "hi" and not actually spending the whole half hour lunch with her!!!!
Megan and her teacher, Mrs. Cella. She has really enjoyed her this year.
Megan, Maggie, and Sannah. They are all 3 goofy!!!!! :)

This is Alex's desk. He really thought that I needed to see it and get a picture before the school year is over. He is excited to get to be a 4th grader next year.

Alex really wanted me to eat lunch with him. It was not the best BBQ food that I have ever had but we had alot of fun eating and looking through his classroom.

Alex's Baseball

Alex only has one more baseball game this season and I finally remembered to take my camera. I know, that's sad. The worst part is that even when I had it I was to cold to stand up so a few of the pictures are hard to see through the fence. I swear the weather will get nicer one of these days.

I am not sure what he is doing here but he insists that it is cool.

I have the same response for this one. :)

He made it over to third base. He walked the whole way but I guess he atleast made it. He has only gotten one hit this season but it was a home run and he was so excited he didn't know what to say. He told me that he almost cried coming around third base because he was so happy. It was a great hit over the left fielders head. He still talks about it everyday and he did it about three weeks ago. I guess it's good that he remembers that and not all of the strike outs that he has had. He really is getting better though. Unfortunately he only has one more game.

Good swing. He fouled that one off but he got a walk out of it to so he got to make another trip around the bases. He loves that part!!!!!
