Veteran's Day Project

Megan had a Veteran's Day project to do for school. She got to pick whoever she wanted so she decided that her Uncle Curt was the best choice. She was excited to get to learn so much about him and get to honor his memory in that way. The project turned out great. She put a lot of effort into making it look exactly how she wanted it to. It all paid off for her also as it turned out just perfect!!!!!
She had to put a picture of herself on the display board so she just took one herself and printed it out. Sometimes she just cracks me up.
This is the final project. It turned out great. She presented it to her class yesterday and got a 100%. She was really excited about it when she got home. She enjoyed getting to learn so much about Curt and really appreciated all of the input that she got from Peggy. I believe it is going to hang in her room now. She wants to show it to everyone.

Halloween Costumes

We went to Target to look for some Halloween costumes for the kids and the only requirement was it had to cost under $20.00. I don't know if that was such a good idea since in order to make that happen Megan is now an irish bar maid. :) I think it is pretty cute so we decided to call it an Irish farming maid. I am not sure what that is but it sounds better than a 12 year old waitress!!!!!
She thinks that the vest will look nice with her jeans once halloween is over.
Alex is going to be a skeleton. It is pretty funny and it is suppose to glow in the dark so he will be able to find all night.
Hopefully it will be nice enough outside to actually go trick or treating. I don't get to excited about going in the rain.
The skeleton doesn't look to happy about the farmer maid hugging him. I bet he wouldn't mind so much is she was a bar maid!!!!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN....

Pumpkin patch

We went down to the pumpkin patch so we could go through the corn maze, sling shot some pumkins and buy some pumpkins to take home. We got two of the three things done but by the time we got out of the corn maze the pumpkin patch had closed and we weren't able to buy any pumpkins. I guess we saved some money that way.
Megan, Kristin and Alex are ready to find some mail boxes in the maze. There are suppose to be six of them and they each have a different hole punch in them. You have to punch a card to show that you found them all and then you get a prize at the end. We couldn't find one of them and we had to quit because they were closing but we still got the prize. It was a sucker. Well worth the two hours that we walked around lost in the maze!!!!!
Kathy found one of the mailboxes. We had no idea how we got to it but we punched our cards and moved on.
They are making a game plan on where to go next. I was just following along. I was lost!!!!
We got 5 of the 6 punches. We all had fun though so that was the good part. We still got our suckers on the way out and that made the whole day worth while.
Megan is trying to sling shot a pumpkin. It didn't make it far enough to hit the target but it was a good effort.
Alex had a hard time pulling the sling shot back so Mike had to help him. His didn't make it to the target either. Better luck next year.

Jacob's mad

Heidi bought Megan a new Nintendo DS game. Jacob was watching Megan play it until he figured out that I had my camera out. Apparantely he doesn't like to have his picture taken. :)

Next time I am going to have to move faster to get his picture before he notices!!!!!

Hunting Equipment

Mike and Megan are all ready to go hunting. Megan has started going with Mike for a few days and she got new rain proof clothes so that she could stay warm and dry. I know they are hard to see in the picture since they blend right into the wall but if you look real close they are there. They insist this camo gear works really well.
Hopefully Mike won't loose Megan in the mountains since she is going to blend in to the landscape so well.
She has the whole outfit now and she even got a new camoflauge cushion to sit on. Apparantely you can't take any old cushion. You don't want the poor innocent animals to spot it across the fields. Everything has to blend together.
Hopefully they will have lots of fun and won't get anything. Keep your fingers crossed.

Alex's Soccer

Alex is back to playing soccer this year. He is really enjoying it again. They had a game on Saturday and he did a lot of running as usual. Here are a few pictures of him in action.
He is on the move.
He is waiting for the ball to come back to him.
It's half time. Time for a water break.
A little pep talk from the coach.
It was a good game. They didn't win but they had a great time. We will try again next Saturday.
