Megan's a day away......

It is hard to believe but my little baby girl, Megan, is only 1 day away from being 13 years old. I am not really sure how this happened or why but she is getting older and I can't seem to stop it. :) Since her birthday is tomorrow and she still has to go to school and we have to work and then Alex has a baseball game we decided to make today part of her birthday also.
This is as close to breakfast in bed as she will ever get. She got a muffin and cereal. We aren't big breakfast fans around here.
Jim and Marilyn came over in the evening and we ate dinner and then Megan got to open all of her gifts that she has been receiving all week. She was so excited since she has asked me every night if she can open them. I keep telling her no. :)
The Keyes family sent her these cool sunglasses (I tried to steal them), a cute peace sign t-shirt, earrings, socks, and a home made key chain (she loves it).
Jim and Marilyn gave her this cute blonde statue with the number 13 on it. It is so cute. It will look really nice in her room. She also got a cute paper pad with her inital on it, a bouquet of balloons and $50.00. She loved all of them.
Kim sent her a singing card with a picture of a camera that she bought for her. It is on it's way here but she had to order it so that she could get the color that Megan wanted. I think this means that I don't have to share my camera any more. Yeah!!!!!
Peggy sent her the cutest necklace and earrings and a check for $10.00. She really like both of them and I am going to borrow the necklace and earrings.
Jim and Alex had a lot of fun sitting and watching her open everything.
Then it was time for cake with 13 candles on it. It looked like the house was going to burn down.
Somehow Marilyn got stuck picking up the garbage from all of the gifts.
So far I think Megan has had a good birthday hopefully tomorrow goes as well as today did. I am so excited to have a teenager!!!!!!!! I know she is excited. :)
Happy Birthday Megan, We love you!!!!!

Megan's Birthday begins

Megan's getting birthday presents early. She got her present from Heidi and Jacob last week and her and I got to enjoy it last Thursday night.
Megan is opening her first birthday present of the year.
I think this is her look of excitement when she realized that she got tickets to go see the broadway show "Cats". She was so excited that we decided to make a whole evening out of it.
We got all ready to go and I let her pick where we would go to dinner. It was her birthday present after all so I thought that was only right. I decided that I was wrong though when she picked the Black Angus. I remember the good old days when she would argue to go to McDonald's for her birthday dinner.
We are at the Paramount Theatre for the show. We couldn't take any pictures inside because we got yelled at so this was as close as we could get.
A lady felt sorry for us trying to take our own picture so she was nice enough to stop and take this one.
Megan loved the show and I even got to enjoy her present. Thanks for the fun night Heidi and Jacob.

Easter

We had a fun Easter weekend around our house. We colored eggs on Saturday night so that the big fluffy bunny would have something to hide on Sunday Morning. The kids had a lot of fun coloring them and they made some really neat looking ones.
Waiting for the colors to soak in. They liked them really dark.
The bunny is always nice enough to hide our eggs inside. It seems to know that we aren't real outdoor people and we really don't like to be wet or cold. Megan did a good job finding a lot of them.
Alex found most of them but he didn't rub it into Megan to bad.
These are there final baskets. Now we just have to start eating a lot of deviled eggs and egg salad sandwiches.
We had the traditional dinner that we are used to. Ham and everything to go with it. Including deviled eggs. We have a lot of those to get rid of!!!!!!
It was a fun day of pretty much doing nothing but eating. We made home made doughnuts for breakfast and had our ham for dinner. What more could you ask for???? I hope everyone had a great day!!!!!

Baseball Season

Alex had his first baseball game of the season last night. It was a nice night out when we got there but the game didn't start until 8:00 so it was a bit chilly by the time that it got over at 10:00.
Alex is looking good in his uniform.
They are getting ready to start the game. Alex is #12 this year.
His turn to bat. He didn't get on base but he had some good swings.
Megan and Kristin were getting cold by the end of the game. It was a good game and we have a lot more to look forward to. I bet you are going to get tired of seeing all of the pictures!!!!!!!

I love the sunshine

Oh my gosh, the sunshine arrived today. It wasn't overly warm out but it wasn't raining or snowing so that was a huge step. We took full advantage of the weather and spent most of the day outside. I still had on a long sleeve shirt and two jackets but it was nice enough to be outside and use my sunglasses!!!!!!!
We started the day downtown at Alex's guitar lesson. Megan and I walked to the post office and the bank while he was in class.
We quickly discovered that it was daffodil parade day so after Alex was done we walked to McDonalds and then went and found a spot to watch the parade.
Here are all of the Daffodil Princesses. I think the girl that won was from Emerald Ridge up on South Hill. I am not positive though it is just a guess because their band was right behind the float.
Alex was sure that Cameron would love all of the John Deere Tractors. They had a ton of them all different models from different years. The old ones were pretty funny.
Megan was happy to be at the parade. She was excited to watch all of it.
Alex, on the other hand, thought that we should stay about 5 to 8 minutes. He was being a pest.
Megan was sure that Rena and Maleah would love the princess float. They were waving like crazy!!!!!!!
These were the Spring Fair Mascot's. Alex thought that my Dad should dress up in one of these outfits to work the fair next year.
There are always some nice cars. Alex loved all of these. He decided we could stay past his 8 minute limit for this one.
Alex and I even got some work done in the yard when we got home. We pulled weeds and raked branches and Mike came along behind and mowed the grass.
Megan stayed inside and took pictures of herself. She is always really good at that one. Luckily they are always so cute. :)
