San Francisco, Day 2

We got up bright and early for another full day of touristy site seeing in San Francisco.  We ate our free breakfast at our hotel and then headed toward the Pier.  I was thinking it was Friday so we were stalling to miss rush hour traffice when I suddenly realized that it was Saturday and as you can see, this is what we got into. Oops!!!!!
We got onto the freeway and then got stopped for about 40 minutes trying to get through the toll.  This guys in front of us decided to hang out of his sun roof and dance.  It was so funny.  We were having a great time laughing at him.  He had some great moves and his t-shirt was cracking us up but by the time I got a good picture of it we realized that it wasn't appropriate for a family friendly blog.
After some interesting driving downtown I found us a great parking garage.  All day for $10!!!!  On Friday we parked at a lot at Pier 39 that cost $8 an hour.  This one was a way better deal and only a couple of blocks from the cable car so we just rode it back and forth all day.
We found the trolly car but it had just left so we got a few pictures of it and then waited for the next one.
Alex was so excited to ride that he decided to snuggle with me.
We made it onto the trolly car and it was so fun.  We had planned on riding all three routes but we ran out of time.  This one was alot of fun though so we were good to go and we got to check it off of our list of things to get done.
We went to China Town and looked around for a while.  That was fun and we even found some cool souveniers.
This fun water fountain was downtown.
Alex walked through the path behind the water.  Megan and I didn't want to get wet.  We are girls you know!!!!!
We hoped on the street car next and took it down to Pier 39 again.
I said I wasn't leaving until we had clam chowder in a bread bowl so we got that done early.  It was just as good as I remembered it.  Megan had a really good pretzel and Alex had a very boring hot dog.  They wouldn't even try mine.
We went to the candy shop for saltwater taffy and then walked all the way down the street and checked out all of the action.  There was all sorts of fun stuff going on.  After all of that it was time to head toward Pier 33 to get our tickets for the Alcatraz tour
We took the 6:45 p.m. tour so that we could be there at night also but it didn't really get dark until we were ready to head back.
We made it to the Island.  It was so cool.  The old buildings were so neat to look at.
If you knew how to take pictures this would be the place to come to.  It had so many great spots.
We were trying to get a picture of all of us but it wasn't working to well.
After the regular tour you get to take an audio tour.  It was really fun to listen to and to hear from the people who had worked and lived there.
Megan wanted to get locked up.
The cells are so small.  I don't know how a large man could handle living in there!!!!!
We were getting ready to get back on the boat and realized we had missed the sign.  We were a bit slow.
We had the best two days touring around.  We saw everything that we wanted and got to check everything off of our list.  It was so much fun.  We are headed to Palm Springs first thing in the morning.  Another 8 hour drive and then a full week of sunshine and swimming with everyone.

San Francisco

On Thursday Megan, Alex and I left at promptly 8:00 pm to head toward San Francisco.
The car was full to the rim.  We squeezed a few more things in after this and it was packed.
Alex got the back seat on the way down.  He seemed to be happy back there with all of his pillows and everything.
We ended up driving straight thru and we got to San Francisco at about 11:00 a.m. but we couldn't check into our hotel until 3:00 p.m. so we went down to Pier 39 and the Golden Gate Bridge.
We walked out onto the bridge to get some pictures and check out the view from way up there.
All of our pictures had to be from a distance because we all looked like we had been driving in a car without a shower for 16 hours!!!!
After we got all of the pictures we could from up top we figured out how to get down to the bottom and get some pictures looking up plus we got to check out Fort Baker where my Dad had been stationed for awhile when he was in the military.
We went back to our room at about 5:00 p.m., got checked in, took a shower and went for a gourmet dinner across the street at the Denny's.
We had a fun drive down and got to enjoy day 1 of our vacation.  Tomorrow is a full day of tourist site seeing.  Just wait.  We had one fun filled day!!!!!

Last day of School!!!!!

We finally made it to the end of the school year.  It seems like it took forever to get here but Megan and Alex were both really excited this morning.
They were up and ready to go in record time!!!
Last trip out to the car before they head off.
Megan and her friends made it home first so they had some lunch.
Megan got a gift certificate for a 2 hour limo ride for her birthday from Tony and Suzy so we had a long black limo in our driveway at noon all ready to pick everyone up.
First down to the Tacoma waterfront.
Then a stop at the cupcake shop downtown Tacoma and finally to the glass museum.
They made it back to our driveway just a little after 2:00 pm and they all seemed to have had a great time.
Here is the whole gang that went.  Olivia, Dalton, Carson, Gillian, Peyton, Hunter, Megan and Jake.
This is what Alex and his friends did all day.  Luckily is wasn't raining so they got to spend most of the day outside on their bikes.  Well, that is until the pedal fell off of Alex's.  He didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did.
We had lots of pizza, chips, soda and fun for the last day and all of the kids seem to be looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.  I hope they get up before noon.

Father's Day

We didn't have to many plans for Father's Day but I think that Mike ended up having a good day and alot of fun.
Megan and Alex got him some new mountain bike riding shoes that he has been wanting.  He seemed to be happy with those.
We went to have brunch at the Mazatlan with Jim, Marilyn, my Dad, Bonnie, and Jane.
 The whole McCullough family!!!!!
Mike and his Dad.  Notice how excited they both are to smile for a picture.
My Dad and I.  We didn't complain about a picture!!!! I have been trying to remember, but I am not really sure, when the last time was that I saw my Dad on Father's Day.  It has been several years.  Thanks to Kate for graduating this year so we were able to see him in the morning before he headed home to Vegas.
Everyone at breakfast.  They have the best brunch food.
We spent the afternoon with Tony and Suzy.  Suzy made a very delicious dinner for all of us.
Tony didn't even complain about a picture.  What kind of crazy day was this?  I think maybe he had been drinking!!
Mike and Tony had bowling in the evening and I forgot to take a picture of them so I tried to get one when we got home but crabby Mike wouldn't be in it so the kids posed with his bowling bag.  It's a close second to a wonderful bowling photo.
Overall, I think everyone had a good day.  Happy Father's Day to all of those Dad's out there.

Kate's Graduation Party

We got to make a trip up to Woodinville on Saturday to help celebrate Kate's graduation.  She graduated from Woodinville High School last Wednesday and today was party day!!!!!
Megan and Alex all loaded up and ready to go.  If only Mike would get off the phone so we could hit the road.
Megan and Grandpa.  It was nice out when we first arrived so everyone was outside.
Megan and Alex.  They love to snuggle.
 They all really love pictures!!!!!
 Alex and Grandpa.
 Alex, Megan, and Kate.
 Bonnie and Alex.
Kate said a few words to everyone.  She thanked everyone for coming and supporting her all these years.  It was very nice!!!
Bonnie, Kate, and Aimie.  Great picture of all of them.
I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of the cake before it got cut.  Just imagine the 2012 part.  It was already eaten. :)
They had a really fun picture spot set up.  It had crazy glasses and funny ties with a cool 2012 background.
We had a great time at the party and were really glad that we got to go spend the day with everyone.
Kate is going to go to Western next year.  I hope she enjoys it!!!!!!  Congratulations Kate.
