Goodbye Pilchuck

It is a sad day around our house. It is the last day of this Pilchuck truck being in our driveway. It has become a staple in our yard and normally looks nicer than most of our trees. :) There are 250 employees with Pilchuck who will find themselves unemployed after tomorrow.
Mike has really enjoyed working with everyone there and has made some great friends that will all be missed. Hopefully they will all get hired with the new company once it gets going but so far no one seems to have any idea what is going on.
Our poor yard is going to look so bare tomorrow night and now our garage is overflowing with all of the tools that used to be stored on this truck.

Excellent Eagle

Alex got an Excellent Eagle award at his school this month. They give them out every month to kids who have excelled in different areas. Alex got one this month for overall achievements. He was really excited about it when he found out and I even got to go to the assembly where they receive them and watch. They called his name and he got to head up to the front of the gym.
This is Mrs. Jangula, Alex's teacher, she is the one who picks which students receive awards.
Alex getting his certificate
This is the certificate that Alex received. He was so excited about it and after the assembly the kids and their families get to stay in the gym for donuts and juice.

It was a really fun morning and I am so glad that I got to attend!!!!!

Career Day

One of Megan's assignments at school is to job shadow someone for a day. She picked to go with Suzy and she called and asked her and set the whole thing up on her own. Suzy works for Pierce College so Megan got to spend an entire day with her seeing what it was like. First they went out to the Fort Steilacom campus and had an open house for 8th graders, then they went to a rotary meeting at the Ram, then went to the Puyallup campus and had a budget meeting with Suzy's co-workers. Megan got a tour of the school and got to talk to a lot of great people. Here they are in Suzy's office.
This is the Fort Steilacom campus.
Megan was excited to get a picture of Suzy's office door.
They made it back home after a long hard day at work. Megan had a great time with Suzy and really seemed to enjoy everything that they got to do. Hopefully she didn't drive Suzy crazy all day!!!!!!!

Crazy Days at School

The kids have been having strange dress up days at school lately. Megan and Olivia had 80's day at the Junior High and Alex had crazy hair day at his school. He actually had a whole week of crazy days but we only remembered a picture on hair day. :) Very cool 80's attire.
This is there version of leg warmers. I guess they will do for one day.
We couldn't get Alex's hair to crazy because he doesn't have enough of it. I think Crazy Hair day is more for the girls then the boys!!!!!!

Megan's Early Birthday Present

Megan bought herself an early birthday present. One of Mike's friends was selling his really nice camera with extra lenses, extra memory cards, a really nice bag, extra straps and two remote controls so she thought it was time to spend some of her hard earned money. She needed $500 dollars and she only had $200 saved up so she hit everyone for help for her birthday present. She got enough money and went and bought the camera yesterday. Hopefully when her birthday comes around next month she remembers why she isn't going to get any gifts!!!! She spent all day yesterday and today taking random pictures and she has gotten some good ones again.
This is something in our yard. I am not exactly sure what it is but I liked the picture.
She just loves her baby brother. He is talking on her phone. I am sure that made her happy.
They were down at DeCoursey park doing some geocashing.
Still at the park.
This is some random old couple that she thought was cute.
Some vases from on top of the piano.
She was practicing the timer with one of the remotes.
Here is a good one she got of Mike and then she figured out how to photoshop his black eye out of it. She was so excited that it worked and the picture turned our really good.
Some pretty flowers that were at Stan's house when she went to buy the camera from him.
She took a ton of funny pictures of me throughout the night but they were really bad. It could have been the goofy faces I kept making at her or it could have just been that I don't take the best pictures. :)
This is the very cute gnome that we have out front. It was my Mom's and my Dad gave it to me for Christmas last year. He has a funny sense of humor sometimes!!!!!!!
I think Megan is very happy with her purchase and I will wrap it up when her actual birthday comes around.
