The Perfect Christmas Tree

We went out to get our Christmas Tree this weekend. We don't normally get it this early but we are having a party next Friday night so I had to get on the ball. It is actually kind of nice to go get it so early. There weren't many people at the tree farm at all.
The kids are all ready to go. We had to stop for gas on the way so I got a couple of pictures in the truck.
Aren't they funny??? I don't know what they are doing.

We are ready to find the perfect tree. We made it to the entrance.

This is the one the kids picked. They did a nice job at finding a good one. It looks really nice.

A very nice lady took our picture for us so that we could get a whole family shot. Don't be surprised when our Christmas cards look a lot like this one. :)

Mike and I are waiting for the tractor to pick up our tree.
Megan and Alex are all ready to get the tree home and decorate it. To bad once we got it here no one would help me. I think I did an ok job on it all alone though.

Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving at our house again this year. It was alot of fun even though we were missing some very important people. The good news is that they all got to be with family in Illinois also.
Megan helped me make the food during the day. She really liked peeling the potatoes.
We all sat down to eat together. I don't know what Alex is doing here but he seemed to think he was pretty funny.
Jim (Mike's Dad), Megan, Mike and Steve (My Dad). My Dad and his wife, Bonnie.
The men decided to teach Alex how to play poker after dinner. He had so much fun. He got excited when he won a hand a pouted when he lost. I guess he has a few things to learn about the game. :)
Alex was getting some tips from my Dad.
Megan and Marilyn (Mike's Mom).
Megan and Marilyn made a gingerbread house that Bonnie brought. It turned out really good. It is setting on our table now. It's a perfect center piece.
We got some pictures of the whole family.
Alex looks like the deer in headlights in both of these. I don't know why he won't just smile. I think he gets that from his Dad. We had a really fun Thanksgiving. It was a nice day. Thanks to everyone for coming.

Jive Night

Megan and her friend Maggie went to a Jive night at the school on Friday night. I am not sure what exactly that is but it sounds like a Junior High version of a carnival. I dropped them off at 6:00 and went back and picked them up at 10:00. They seemed to have had a lot of fun.
This is the pompom that they bought there. They need to show their school spirit!!!!
This is Maggie and Megan. More M names. I get them all so confused. :)

Megan before we headed out to the school. She really likes to go out and do things with her friends. She always has a great time with them all.

Fun weekend

We got to go out this weekend and celebrate Michelle and Kathy's birthdays. We went to Chopstix in Tacoma. It is a dueling piano bar. We have been there a few times and we have had a great time every time we have gone. This time was no different!!!!
This is everyone. We always have a lot of fun together.
Kathy, Michelle, Me and Suzy.

Michelle and Kathy got called up onto the stage. They had to lead everyone in the chicken dance for their birthday's. It was really funny.
I even made a cake and it turned out pretty good. Scott decided to taste test it for me to make sure it was ok before Kathy and Michelle blew out the candle. They didn't even notice that the corner was missing.
Kathy and Pat. They are so funny!!!!!!
Mark and Michelle. Happy Birthday!!!!!
Mike and I. Notice that Mike actually has teeth.
Mark and Scott. The night was just beginning.
Tony and Suzy. Tony was very happy about the apple cup score and Suzy wasn't to excited.
We all had a really good time. It was a fun birthday party.

Soccer Banquet

We went to Alex's soccer banquet today. We had a full weekend of soccer. It was at Round Table Pizza and it was a lot of fun. Alex got a trophy and a neat picture of his team. He really likes all of the boys on the team and the coach so we have had a fun year.
I am not sure what he was doing here. He got a jaw breaker out of a game they were playing though and if you can tell his teeth are orange. It was gross!!!!!
Megan won a jaw breaker also. Look at how fat her cheeks are. She was laughing to much while I was taking this so it was hard to tell.
We ate our pizza so now it is time for cake and trophy's. I don't know which one he was more excited for. Luckily he liked both so it turned out good.
They put all of the boy's names on the cake. Good thing they have a small team.

They each got to eat their own name.

Alex receiving his trophy from his coach.
He got his trophy, a team picture and a coupon to come back for a free pizza. We had a good time and it was nice to get to see all of the boys somewhere other than the soccer field. Hopefully we will see them again next season.

Alex's last soccer game

We went to Alex's last soccer game on Saturday. They had a good game and the sun was out so it made for a good day. Alex had a lot of fun playing this year and he improved quit a bit so that was good. We will see if he wants to play again next year.
This is Megan and I before the game. The sun was out so we had to get our glasses on. Did you notice that they match? Megan loves that!!!!!
A good cheer during the game. It keeps those boys moving.
Megan is watching from a distance. She decided to play on the big toy instead of sitting with me.
An action shot!!!!! Look at all of that exercise he is getting.

He is already to play. Just waiting for his turn to go back in. He loves it when I take his picture during the game. :)

Pumpkin carving

Megan decided to carve a pumpkin after Halloween. She did a very good job on it and it looks really cute.
She didn't like scooping out the insides to much but she finally got that part done.
Once the top was cut off it was good to go.
The final product. A perfect pumpkin. She put it out on the front porch for everyone to see. If only we ever had any people come by our house!!!!

Halloween

We are all ready to go out trick or treating and see how much candy we can get. We went to the mall to eat dinner on our way to meet our friends and found out that you could trick or treat there also so we had a good base in the kid's buckets by the time we met up with everyone for walking the neighborhoods. The kids had a great time and they ended up with way to much candy. They have been eating it like crazy.
Alex was the skeleton. He even glowed in the dark.

Megan was the Irish house maid. She even managed to stay warm the whole night.

Everyone is ready to go. We have a cat, irish maid, 80's rocker, a fairie and 3 monsters.

After we made it home from trick or treating we had Batman arrive. He snuck in for some candy and then was off again.

Alex is assessing his candy supply. He made out pretty good.

Megan ended up with more than enough candy also. She even got a few twix bars that she shared with me.

We had a fun night with everyone and I think that the kids got plenty of snacks to last for the next year.
