Father's Day Present

The kids and I went and got our pictures taken for Father's Day gifts this year. A friend of mine from the gym took them for us and I think they turned out sooooo good. We got 78 pictures and I just can't decide which ones I like the best. This is just a few of them but they aren't all of my favorites. :)

I have so many more that I really like but I don't think I should put them all on here. Thank you so much Lisa for taking them. Everyone has loved them!!!!!

Father's Day

We had a busy and fun day on Father's Day.
We started the morning off with some gifts.
Megan made a puzzle for Mike to tell him what we were doing for the day.
After the puzzle was finally done we headed to Mazatlan for Breakfast. They have a really good brunch.
Alex, Mike and Megan at Breakfast. Everyone was very full by the time we left.
After we ate we headed to Auburn to go to Emerald Downs for the day. We have gone a couple of times before on Father's day but this is the first time we have actually had to wear our winter coats.
We ended up getting reserved seats because all of the free ones were in the rain and no one wanted to do that. They were really nice seats though. We will probably do that again when we go back. They had better views.
Great news for Megan, she seems to have inherited my monkey arms. She took this lovely picture of all of us.
Megan and Alex waiting for another race to start. Notice how packed the free benches are in the rain. The rest of the place was packed. :)
I think that everyone had a good day even though we were freezing when we left. We had plenty of blankets and jackets with us so it was worth it.

Last Day of School

It's hard to believe but it's the last day of school already. Megan wasn't to excited about it but Alex didn't seem to have a problem at all.
On the way to school for the last time as an 8th Grader!!!!!!!
Megan and Gillian at school.
Megan and Olivia in their really cute matching shirts. They have on matching socks to but you can't see them.
Megan at school.

Alex is getting off the bus for the last time as a 5th grader. Megan took my camera to school so I couldn't get a morning picture.
Alex and Conner walking home for the last time. Alex is going to be the big guy next year. 6th grade already. Hard to believe.
They both had a great year at school and both did great on their grades. I hope that they have a wonderful summer now!!!!!!

Alex's movie day

Alex got to go to the movie today on a school field trip for being an excellent reader. I know it sounds funny that they took the top readers to a movie but we got to go see Shrek 4 this afternoon and had a lot of fun. I asked him why they didn't go to a book fair for being excellent readers but he and his friends all thought I was crazy!!!!!
This is Alex's teacher, Mr. Smith. We will sure miss him. He is an awesome teacher and has really helped both of the kids. At Alex's first conference of the year he was the second from the last kid with reading points and Mr. Smith helped him out and he finished the year with the second most points in the class. He did great in everything and has really improved as the year has gone on. Alex is going to miss him next year.
I thought there was only about 25 kids going to the movie but when we arrived I figured out I was really wrong. There were probably close to a 100 kids and a lot of parents. The theatre was packed.
We can't watch a movie without snacks. The line took forever but it was well worth it.
Alex and his friend are waiting for the movie to start. Good thing we got in quick to get seats.
I made the mistake of asking him if he wanted some of my popcorn and he ate half of it. Normally he doesn't eat much of it so I thought I was safe asking him. That will teach me!!!!!
We had a really fun time at the movie and it was actually really good. I was a little worried since I have only seen the first Shrek and this was the fourth one but it was pretty easy to catch on to what I have missed.
I am glad that Alex wanted me to go with him and his friends and he even let me sit with him. That is more than Megan lets me do.

The kids are helping, can't you tell???

We spent the entire weekend out in the sunshine working on our yard. We have been weeding it for a couple of weeks and this weekend we started putting down beauty bark and did a bunch of weedeating in the back and mowed the lawn. We have such great and helpful kids. They just jumped at the chance to help out in the sunshine.
Mike out in the back getting the wood ready for the campfire and mowing the back 40. He almost mowed over a rabbit. They run through the yard all the time and one was hiding in the trees. Luckily he hoped away before he became fertilizer.
This is one hot picture!!! Nothing like pulling weeds. That is always nice. I swear the horse field next door sends over way to many weeds. It is impossible to keep the side of the house cleared out.
And here we go. Look at all of the help the kids are being. Megan, Olivia, and Gillian are playing on the computer on the back deck. Oh yeah, this is actually them doing homework and studying for finals this week. Nice try girls!!!!!!
Here is Alex hard at work too. It is exhausting to push those little tiny buttons on that Nintendo. He wouldn't want to risk hurting those button fingers by pulling weeds or spreading bark. Crazy thought. :)
The hard workers even had Mike put up the easy up for them because the sun was just so hot that they were to warm.
Crazy kids. Maybe I will start leaving them lists of chores to do when school is out on Wednesday. I wonder how well that will go over!!!!!

Jacob turns 6 years old.

We went to Kid's Bounce on Saturday for Jacob's birthday party. He is going to be 6 on Tuesday already so we got to join in on the festivities.
It's an Iron Man cake. It looked like it was really good.
Jacob and Alex took a break from bouncing for a while to play some air hockey.
Megan fell down in one of the bounce houses.
Heidi, Sue and I got a picture together without my long arm sticking out in the middle of it. We actually knew someone to take one for us this time!!!!!
Sue, Megan, Marie and Lloyd. No one could decide where to start jumping.
Alex obviously found something to jump around on. He is very sweaty and gross but he was sure having a good time.
Heidi and Megan had to make up after they got in a bouncy boxing match. I don't know who won though.
Megan and Mike.
All of the kids from the party. There were a lot of kids there. Jacob has tons of friends. :)
Jacob even got his very own bouncy chair when they had cake. He got to sit up front to open his gifts and eat his cake and cookies.
It was a really fun party and I think that Jacob had a good time. I know that we all had fun.

Megan's pictures

Megan took a yearbook class this year at school and they learned how to take some pictures. She is getting good at it and really likes to take her (my) camera with her alot. She got some cool ones on Friday after we got home so here they are.
Oscar is her new model. She takes lots of him.
They had a campfire out back in the evening with the neighbors. She decided to take her picture in Mike's glasses before it got to dark out.
This must be when they first started the fire because by the time I got out there it was huge.
Oscar really likes to sit it our hedges out front. I guess it makes for a good background.
It will be fun to see what else she can come up with. She is doing good so far. You will notice there wasn't even any rain in any of those. What a great weekend!!!!!
