Last Day of School!!!

It is hard to believe but the kids are on summer break already.  I don't know what has happened but another school year has come and gone.
Megan's last morning as a Junior at Roger's High School
She left as a Junior and came home as a Senior.  What is happening????  She is done with school in one more year.  I can't even believe it!!!!!
Alex was all ready to head out for his last day as an 8th Grader at Ballou Junior High.
He left as an 8th grader and came home as a freshman.  What is this world coming to????  I am not so sure about this.
They both had great last days and are looking forward to a whole summer of sleeping in.

Father's Day - Early

Mike is going to be out of town next weekend so we decided to celebrate Father's Day a week early. We went to Emerald Down's to watch the horse races.  We never win anything when we are there but it is a fun place to go and it isn't terribly expensive if you bet as little as we do!!!!
Megan is getting her nails all ready for the big day.
Mike loved the left over Valentine's Day bag that we had. :)
Alex makes me laugh with his crazy faces that he makes.
Just when you get Alex to have a good one Megan pops in with some blow fish face.
It pays to have long arms.  Beautiful family photo.
We found this funny picture spot.
 They are both so strange!!!
Here come the horses.  We got a cool box with a tv so you could see the whole race up close even when they were on the other side of the track.
Mike just loves to get pictures.
Megan and I in between our snacks.
Happy Father's Day Mike.  I hope you had a fun day!!!!!!

Vashon Island

We went to Vashon Island on Saturday for a wedding.  It was a beautiful day out with not one drop of rain.
We had to wait for the ferry to arrive.  We can see it coming.
Megan and Alex anxious to get on the boat.
 We made it on.  Yeah!!!!
We purposely got on an early ferry so that we wouldn't risk missing it and so that we could have some lunch once we got over there.  We found a really good pizza place right in the middle of town that we had lunch at.
Alex loves to have his picture with me.
Sherry made the cake.  It turned out so cute and it was really good.
We are waiting for the action to start.  It was an outdoor wedding and reception so they lucked out on the weather.
Barb being her silly little self.
 Alex is patiently waiting.
Megan and I waiting.  It was a rainbow themed party so there is color everywhere you turn.
Suzy and Megan.  Suzy was in the wedding since it is her cousin Sherry that is getting married.
 Mike and mini me.
The wedding has begun.  It was really nice and officiated by a good friend of their's whose house we happen to be at. :)
Daria and Sherry.  All hitched up as they said.
 The happy couple.
 Mike, Barb, and Tony.
 All of us.
There were a ton of activities to keep everyone busy also.  The kids enjoyed some badmitten before snacks.
Mike and Megan all ready for some food and beverages.
The cake was a rainbow also.  It turned out great and tasted so good.  They also had fortune cookies with fun sayings inside.
Alex liked the cake but loved the fortune cookies.  He even got to take a to go bag of them.
They had a great band and Daria even sang a song to Sherry.  Who knew she could sing????
The happy couple listening to the toasts that everyone had for them.
 The first dance was fun.
The guys finished the day off with some horse shoes.
There was more fun to be had but my battery died on my camera.  I guess this is why people have more than one battery.  We had a great time at the wedding and it was so much fun to get to see everyone.  After everything was winding down and we did some clean up work we headed back to the same pizza place to have some dinner with Tony, Suzy, Barb, Suzy's brother Sean and his brand new wife Allison. What a fun day!!!!!

Last band concert of 8th grade!!!!

Alex had his last band concert of the year on Wednesday night.
He always loves to dress up in his nicest clothes.
 Headed into the school.
The band is waiting patiently for their turn.
And, it's their turn.  It is kind of hard to see him.  Once they all sit down those music stands get in the way!!!!!
It's over already.  They have really improved since the first concert of the year.  I think Alex is planning on playing again next year so we will have more fun concert photo's to post later!!!!
