Driving all alone

I am not sure that I am ready for this at all but I guess no one asked my opinion so here she goes.  Out on a main road all by herself.  Who is going to be reminding her to slow down, stop before she hits the car in front of her, and pointing out that the red octogan signs mean to stop not just slow down?????
She is loading up for her first solo drive.
Mike gave her the lecture before she pulled out.  The normal, no talking on your cell phone or texting while driving!!!!!
Oh my,  she is on the road.  I was so glad when she made it back home still in one piece.
She drove Alex to school this morning.  They seemed really excited when they were loading up.
Are you kidding me.  They look like two ten year olds playing in the car.  Whose idea is this to let them go out all alone??????

This is the new car that I got.  It is a Dodge Neon.  I think it looks a lot like the Hyundai but it is different.  Maybe I should just start following Megan every time she leaves the house.  I am sure she would love that. :)

Birthday presents

Megan got all sorts of great Birthday presents.  Her friends gave her all of her favorite things.  Starbucks gift cards, hot tamales, skittles, jewelry and so much more.  Here are some of her gifts from the family.  She made out really good!!!!!

She got the movie, Burlesque, from Alex.  We can now finally delete it from our DVR!!!!!
Grandpa and Grandma Bonnie sent her money.  Always one of her favorite things.
Kim sent this cool picture of her name.  She has always loved looking at these so it was great that she got one of her own.
The Keye's family sent her this hilarious car shaped snow globe.  I really need to get a better picture because it is in a car shape with a picture of Megan inside of it so it looks like she is driving the car.
Heidi, Jacob and Jeff sent her this great 16 year old survival kit.  It had a nicely decorated gas can, an application for Taco Time, gift cards for Pep Boys and Costco gas, and a very nice card with an attractive man on it. :)

Nana and Papa gave her money.  Always a hit!!!
We gave her a car.  She got the Hyundai that I have been driving.  She didn't seem very excited about it at the time.
But, as soon as she put her sign on the corvette she perked right up.  I guess she wanted to pick which car she got to drive.
We went on Saturday and got the other car that we had bought for me to drive and then she seemed much happier about the Hyundai.  She quickly cleaned all of my stuff out of it and now refers to it as her car!!!!!
I think that Megan had a great Birthday weekend and got everything that she could have hoped for!!!!

Happy Birthday Megan!!!!!

Megan turned 16 on Friday and she had one fun filled day.  We were very busy little bees.
She was all ready to go to school bright and early.  She had things to do and needed to get the day started.
These are the invitations that she made to her birthday party.  If I was smart enough to figure out how to rotate this picture you might actually be able to read them!!!!!!
Our first stop after school was to get her actual driver's license.  She had passed all of the tests already so we just had to go down and get the real thing.
Oh no,  she is allowed to drive all alone now!!!!!
We went for Icee's to celebrate.  Sometimes she is a bit strange!!!!!
Then it was off to Papa Murphy's to get the pizza for the big party.

It was suppose to be raining and the original plan had been to have a fire outside so we transformed the garage again into a party room.  I put old pictures of her all over the paper we put up.
Everyone arrived in time for some food.
They all came inside to open her gifts.  She got lots of great things from everyone.
Some other friends came over and saran wrapped her friend Wyatt's truck.  It was pretty funny to everyone except Wyatt.
Megan and Jake at the end of the night.  Luckily the weather cleared up enough to have their bon fire so that worked out just fine.
Everyone headed home at about Midnight.  I think Megan had a great day and a successful party!!!!!

One step closer!!!!!!

Megan finished Driver's Ed last thursday, took her driving test today, and can get her license next Friday. She passed the drive today so now we just wait. She is so excited to get it so we will be there at 3:00 p.m. on her birthday to get the official card!!!!!
We are on our way to take the test. This is the final practice run!!!!!
They are pulling back in the driveway. I am hoping that she passed.
Yeah, A 94%. Now we just wait until her birthday and we go back to get the real license. I think she is really excited even though I am not too sure about it. I am anxious to send her to the store for me though. I get so tired of going there!!!!!!! :)

Chicago

I got to spend the weekend in Chicago with Peggy, Tami, and Kari. I went to help Peggy with some stuff around her house and we got to do all sorts of fun things.Tami and I went into Chicago on Saturday night and had dinner.
Then we went to this really cool jazz bar. It was packed when we arrived and there was a line outside to get in when we left.
Carter, Rylee, and Noah are so funny. I had a great time getting to play around with them.
Peggy with Kari's family.
I had such a fun weekend and we accomplished a lot around the house. I can't wait to go back.

Driver's Ed

Megan finished driver's ed last week and is all ready to take her driver's test and get her license. I am really excited for her but very nervous at the same time. She can drive all by herself next Friday if she passes her test. Keep your fingers crossed.
Megan's last drive at class.
Alex and I went over to the park while we waited for Megan. It was nice out for a change and we have never been park people so we decided to go check it out. We were laughing at how packed it was. Obviously everyone was excited to be able to finally go outside.
I just thought this was cute and he didn't even argue about me taking it!!!!!

Happy Easter

We had a really fun Easter around here. We got up to some presents, searched for eggs, and went to brunch. What could be better?Megan and Olivia did a great job of coloring our Easter eggs on Saturday.
Alex was excited about his Easter basket. He got a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and candy.
Megan was to cool to admit a bunny had brought her a basket full of stuff but I reassured her that was really what had happened.
Alex broke into his reese's eggs within five minutes.
Alex had his basket all ready to search for those beautiful eggs that Megan had colored. Somehow they were spread out all over our downstairs. :)
Megan was also to cool to use her basket. She had to stash all of her eggs in her sweatshirt.
The bunny did an awesome job of hiding eggs this year!!!!! :)
After our morning full of fun at home we headed over to Tony and Suzy's house for brunch. Alex was really excited to take a picture with me.
Tony and Suzy's mom's talking up a storm in the kitchen.
We had so much good food. I was so stuffed when we finally finished eating. That was after my third trip through of course!!!!!
Megan got an early Birthday present from Tony and Suzy. It is a two hour limo ride for 8 people. She was so excited and has been planning when to use it. I am pretty sure that none of us adults are going to be invited for the ride!!!!!
We had a really fun day and even got to enjoy some sunshine. Hopefully that sticks around for awhile. It was really nice!!!!!!!!!

Arizona!!!!!!

I got to go to Arizona last week for Heidi's Birthday. It was so much fun and they have this huge yellow circle in the sky that puts you in such a good mood. I didn't have to wear 10 layers of clothes everywhere that I went and I only needed my jacket at night. What a crazy thought!!!!!When I got up on Friday morning Marie and Jacob were already hard at work on the birthday cake.
Jacob did an excellent job at decorating them all by himself. They looked perfect.
The whole family, Lloyd, Marie, Heidi, Jeff and Jacob.
Heidi and I. I didn't do to good with my camera again. I was there for 5 days and this would be the only day I remembered to get it out. I really need to pay better attention.
Look at that beautiful cake. Jacob even managed to buy the candles that don't blow out.
We went out to dinner on Friday night and then went and watched some bull riding. They were real bulls, not the mechanical ones I thought we were going too. :)
Heidi, Jacob and Marie.
I had so much fun with everyone and can't wait to go back!!!!!!!
