First day at Pierce.....

Megan has been really busy the past few weeks.  She started school at Roger's then worked at the fair and now is starting her classes at Pierce.  She goes to Pierce for two classes in the morning then has lunch and heads to Roger's for her two classes in the afternoon.  She has really liked it so far but we are only on the first week.
Suzy got this great picture of her on Monday morning for me.  Megan's first day at Pierce Community College.  Way to go Megan!!!!!!!

Megan's first job!!!!!

Megan got her first real, tax paying job at the fair this year.  She worked in the dairy barn selling a whole lot of ice cream.
This is not the best picture of her I've ever taken but she wouldn't smile so this is what she gets.
Olivia was working there also so they got to have all sorts of fun together.
Isn't she just cute as a button?  :)
Do you think Olivia knows you should tie your apron?
They were very good at washing their hands.
Yeah, they made it through the whole day and the whole fair.  I think they both had fun.  I am so excited to see their faces when they realize how much of their checks went to taxes.  I hope they don't cry!!!!!! :)

First Day of School

It is hard to believe but the summer is over and the kids are headed back to school.  I am not sure how much longer I can get away with this picture on the first day but I am going to keep trying to take them every year until no one is left here to argue about it!!!!!!
Megan's first day of 11th grade at Roger's High School and Alex's first day of 8th grade at Ballou Junior High.
Alex is getting to be taller than Megan. :)  They look so excited.
Bad Picture.  Alex looks a little fuzzy.
Megan all ready to go.  She only has two classes at Roger's this year.  She is doing Running Start so she has two classes at Pierce Community College also.  I am not sure where she gets her smarts.  I am positive it wasn't from me!!!!!
Megan is driving herself to school.  That just seems wrong.
Alex and Connor waiting for the bus to arrive.
They are getting on the bus.  I am running out of years for this picture.  I normally get one getting off the bus but I was working at the fair so I didn't get home on time.  Good thing I got all of these morning ones.   :)
So far the year has started off great and everyone seems to be enjoying it.  Hopefully it stays that way.

Happy Birthday, To Me!!!!!!! :)

Holy Smokes get ready for a lot of pictures and a good story to go with them!!!!
On Saturday Mike told me that he had to go up to Marysville to help a friend of his work on his car and that I needed to go with him because his friends wife wanted me to look at the jewelry that she makes.  As you can imagine, I was more than happy to spend my entire sunshine filled Saturday looking at jewelry with someone who I did not know. :)  As it turns out it was all one big fat lie!!!!!  Mike's friend owns his own airplane and Mike had set up an entire day and night worth of fun for me for my birthday.  When we arrived he told me that we were really there to take a ride in the plane to the San Juan Islands to have lunch.  I was more than happy with just doing that but I was in for so much more.
This is us getting ready to load up for our ride.  Keep in mind that his friend just pulls the plane out of his garage and has an air strip in his back yard!!!!!
We got up in the air and Greg decided that Mike should fly us there.  I was a bit nervous about that idea but Mike loved it.
The girls in the back seat enjoying the ride.  What a beautiful view from up there.
Once we landed and got out of the plane I noticed that Mike was carrying a duffle bag so I asked him why and he informed me that the rest of my present was that we were spending the night.  I was slightly concerned about this since I hadn't packed anything but he informed me that he had it under control.
Our next stop was down to Susie's Moped where he had reserved a funny coupe scoot for the whole day so that we could tour the island and not have to hurry.
Our first stop on our tour was Roche Harbor.  What a cute place.
We ate lunch outside in the sunshine staring at a bunch of beautiful boats.
I decided that this was us.  I really want to be the ladies sitting up on the dock by their huge sleeper boat but I know I am the poor couple in the motor boat out for a day ride. :)
We drove past a whole field of these funny guys.  They just sat and stared at us.  We also stopped at a lavender farm, saw a funny camel and found a bunch of lama's.  There is a very strange combination of stuff on this Island.
I got to drive for a little bit but I was much happier being the passenger.  You can't look around as much when you are driving.
We stopped at one look out and we were to lazy to take off our helmets so of course it was the stop where a nice man offered to take our picture.
I love lighthouses so we stopped and walked up to this beauty. It was a little breezy.
After riding around for close to six hours we had to return the scooter but we had to fill it up.  Even at $4.85 a gallon it only cost us $3.80 to fill it up.  I think I need one of these for going to the grocery store.  It gets really good gas mileage.
We walked down to the pier to watch the boats some more and go eat dinner.  It is so fun to eat outside and have something fun to stare at.
We walked up to check out some of the stores after dinner and walked into the general store on the main road and walked out five minutes later to a completely flooded street.  A water main had broke while we were in the store and the entire street was flooding and the road was starting to buckle.  I think it was the most excitement this small town had seen in a while.  They had all of there emergency people there in record time trying to decide what to do.
The hotel we stayed at was really cute.  I guess Mike didn't realize it was a holiday weekend when he started planning this whole thing so he was worried about the room but it was really nice and it even had a fireplace.  It was so tiny and funny.
This would be the outfit that Mike packed for me for the morning.  It isn't necessarily something that I would have put together but I was more than happy with it.  He did laugh when I got dressed that he didn't realize the t-shirt was long sleeved.  Oh well.  I am always cold anyway!!
We went down and got some coffee and sat and watched the ferries come in, checked out a few more shops that we had missed and then met Greg and Alexis for lunch before they flew us back home.
After lunch Greg wanted ice cream and he knew exactly where to go so we all ended up getting some.  It was really good.
Our plane is waiting for us.  It is so fun to have a personal pilot and a private jet waiting for you.

You can't even see the house but just imagine, it is huge.  This is just Gregs airplane garage on the right and his car garage on the left.  We literally pulled off of the runway onto his driveway and pulled the plane right into the garage.  I was cracking up.
I had the best weekend and I am not sure how Mike pulled it off without me having a clue but he did an awesome job.  It was the perfect birthday present!!!!!!!!!

Engagement Party

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to get to help out with an engagement party for Suzy's cousin Sherri and her partner Daria.  We had such a fun afternoon and I think they really enjoyed themselves.
 Suzy, Sherri and Daria
 Sherri and her Mom.
Daria with some of her family.  Her sister and her parents.
 Barb and Sherri's brother.
Sherri is a professional photographer so her friend brought all of their equipment to get a picture of everyone that was there.  It was pretty funny to watch everyone get in place.
Megan had the best time with the little kids.  They were all so cute and they seemed to have a great time playing.
Sherri with her Mom and her Aunt.
It was a really fun afternoon and a great party.  Congratulations to both of them!!!!!!!
