The Puyallup Fair 2008

I am helping my Dad out at the fair this year. It has been a lot of fun but it is very time consuming and a lot of work. We set up the week before it started and it was funny how many people were on the grounds during the day and no one paid any attention to where they parked their cars. This is the driveway at 8:00 in the morning. Notice that you can actually get a car down the street.
This is what it looked like by 3:00 in the afternoon. You can barely get your car through and no one would get out of the way. It was ridiculous. Luckily we got all 20 stands filled up and ready to go. The fair opened with no problems and all of these cars were off the grounds.
We took the kids down last Monday to ride some of the rides and this would be the only picture that I got before my camera died. I guess that I forgot to charge the battery before we left.
Mike and I went down on Wednesday and watched the Kid Rock concert. It was really good and Mike was impressed with this picture that he got. You can't go to a rock concert without some curvy girls on the stage.

First Day of School

Oh my, it's hard to believe but Megan started Junior High this year. She is in 7th grade at Ballou Junior High and so far she is really liking it. The only downfall for us is that she has to be to the bus stop by 7:00 am and as you know, We are not morning people. We have done really good so far and she hasn't missed the bus yet.
She was not to happy that I was taking her picture at the bus stop. I guess she thought someone she knew might see her.
Alex was a much better sport about the whole picture thing. I guess that is because he is only in 4th grade. He is at Woodland Elementary again and he is enjoying his teacher so that is going to be fun.
He didn't even care that I took his picture at the bus. I better take advantage while I can.

New bedrooms

Mike and Megan went to Arizona over Labor Day weekend so Alex and I decided to finish working on his and Megan's bedrooms. We re-arranged Alex's room and cleaned it out and he got to put everything where he wanted.

We started re-doing Megan's room for her birthday back in April so I finished making the curtains for the closet while they were gone and moved everything around. She really liked it when she got home so I guess that means we did a good job.

Soccer fun

Alex has started soccer again this year. He had practice last week so I tried to get some pictures of him. I don't think they are the best pictures but you can atleast tell it is him playing.
He is excited to start the games. He got a new jersey and he even got to pick his own number to put on the back. That was a highlight of one of his practices.
Megan and I went over to the playground while he was practicing. I am obviously to big for this toy!!!!!
I think that Megan is to big also. She is stuck in this thing. It was pretty funny watching it spin around though.
She had to relax after all of that work and playing.
