We had a fire at our house last night so that Mike could try to figure out where the dog keeps getting out of the fence. I thought it was just a good excuse to make smore's but they seemed to have other plans.
Megan is playing with Hershey and Oscar before they get put back behind the fence.
Welcome to our blog spot. Here you will find pictures and stories about our day to day lives.....check back often to keep track of Megan and Alex as they grow and see what Mike and I are up to!

Megan and Alex's Summer!!!!
Megan and Alex got to spend most of their summer in Carlsbad, CA. with Stefanie, Jeff, Cameron, Rena, and Maleah. They had such a good time. I don't think they wanted to come home.
They left our driveway on July 15th nicely squished into my Dad's convertible. It was packed to the top. They drove all night and made it to Stefanie's house at about 5:00 am, July 16th.

I guess Megan should have slept in the car a little more. She was tired when they arrived.
Alex and Cameron got right into playing with the leggo's. It looks like Maleah was trying to get in on it also.
They spent ALOT of time at the neighbors house in their swimming pool. They got to swim so much and loved all of it. Between the neighbors and the community pool they turned into little fish.
Stefanie and Jeff were nice enough, or crazy enough, to have 5 kids for 5 weeks. I hope they are still in one piece. :)
Megan had a great time playing with everyone all summer. The girls seemed to really like the swings.
They went to an outdoor picnic at the church and had a fun time.
Everyone but Megan earned a t-shirt from the library for reading reports. I guess you had to read a book and then go back and tell what it was about and after seven books you got this t-shirt.
I got to spend a few days with everyone also. It was so much fun. I wished I could stay longer. Maleah and I made cookies one night and Rena and I make cupcakes the next morning. We had a great time!!!!!!
We had movie night outside the night before I had to leave. It was so cool to sit out in the courtyard and watch a movie on the bigscreen. Just like a drive-in but you didn't have to leave the house.
They got to go to the beach a few times while they were there. This is Newport Beach. They are digging a huge hole.
The hole when it was done.
Swimming at the community pool now. They even got to BBQ dinner when they were there. It is so much fun to go to this pool. It's in walking distance of the house and has a great BBQ area and cabana's that you can use.
They made a trip to the Botanical Gardens. Megan took some beautiful pictures of the flowers and things. I might just have to make another post with just her pictures. She is really good at taking them.
Stefanie's neighbor's went to the Botanical Gardens with them. This is Chelsey and Frank with all of the kids. They are the neighbors with the swimming pool so they got to be fast friends. :)
Stefanie was cleaning a bunch of stuff out and they came across her wedding dress. Everyone got a chance to put it on and see how it looks. While Megan does look cute she is not allowed to put it back on for several more years.
I think Rena has even longer to wait!!!!!
A trip to Sea World was alot of fun but they didn't get to see the new show that they went to go see so they ended up getting another free pass to come back and see it. This was the first trip that they made to the park.
Cameron and Maleah with the Flamingo's
They made sure to stay for the fireworks also so it was a long night. Everyone was tired on the way home.
Stefanie found some more fun play stuff. All of her cheer leading outfits. She had just enough for everyone to get to wear one.
How cute is that. They make up their own cheer squad.
Try #2 at Sea World. My Dad made it into town so he got to go with them this time. They got to see the show they wanted and have another fun filled day.
Everyone at Sea World with the Sesame Street characters.
They made a lemonade stand up the road one day. They didn't sell much but they did make $26.00. They had two men stop to buy a cup and all they had was a $20 so they gave it to them for 2 small cups of lemonade. They must have really been thirsty.
I think the guys stopped to check out these legs!!!!! :)
Back to the swimming pool. They all love to swim.
Cameron and Megan drying off. Must be snack time.
They got to go to another beach. This is at Pacific Beach. They went to check out the little shops here so they didn't get into the water this time. Alex and Cameron at the beach.
It is Cameron's birthday. Everyone went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner and some presents and then it looked like it was back to the house for some cake. Yummy!!!!!
Happy Birthday Cameron!!!!!
Stefanie and Megan roasting marshmallows for the last time. The kids are headed back home in the morning with my Dad. They went to Las Vegas for a night and then headed back to Washington. They were gone for almost 6 weeks total. They had a great time though and can't seem to stop talking about it. I think they are ready to go back whenever I will send them.

It was a fun wedding and nice to get to see everyone. Next weekend Chris's sister Wendy is getting married so it's a busy couple of weeks for their family. More pictures to come!!!!!

It isn't goodbye, it's see you very soon!!!!!
Well, you would think after I have slowly watched all of my family leave me here in Washington that I would be an expert at saying goodbye to the ones I love. Here is a shock, I am not good at it at all. While I do have to admit that five years ago when Heidi said they were moving to Arizona I thought it was a great idea and honestly even while driving the Penske truck full of her belongings just a few weeks ago I don't think that I truly believed it was a bad idea but after last weekend and actually having to say goodbye to the very best friend I honestly think it was a horrible idea and it needs to be changed.
Since I know that my wish will not come true I decided to just document our last weekend together. We had such a great time and got to do a lot of fun stuff. We ended the weekend by standing in the airport crying. I am really good at that part. I didn't get pictures of it, just imagine how it looked!!!!! :)
On Friday night we met everyone that worked with Heidi at the Ram down on the waterfront. They are all so nice and we had a really good time.

On Friday night we met everyone that worked with Heidi at the Ram down on the waterfront. They are all so nice and we had a really good time.
After we left the Ram we headed to the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn and went to the dance club and played a few slot machines.
We got up bright and early on Saturday morning to go to our favorite gym for the last time. I am not really sure how I am suppose to go there alone all the time. It is always nice to know that you have someone meeting you there when you arrive in the afternoon. :)
These are the trainers at the gym. They are all so nice. It is Leon, Heidi, Morgan and Joseph in the back. We have had some great times with them, we seem to be able to laugh at ourselves no matter what we are doing and the gym is a great place to laugh so that you don't cry.
After the gym we headed to meet Lloyd, Jacob, Marie, and Oma for breakfast. Jacob and Oma were headed out on Saturday afternoon and they couldn't go without us getting to say goodbye.
Heidi and Jacob packing up some things at the house.
Mike, Jacob, and I. He even smiled. I think that means he likes us. :)
Mike, Me, and Oma. She is always so nice and easy to talk to.
On Sunday morning we headed over to do the final clean up and packing at Heidi's house. We had to eat lunch and this is the only furniture left in the house.
Oliver looked a little mad as the day went on. Heidi had to say goodbye to him until she gets moved into the house and then he will be making the trip down also.
Heidi and Mike taking a break from our hard work.
Heidi and I before we decided to start crying. We did really good all day. It was the security line at the airport that did us in. :)
Heidi's last picture in front of her house. We are headed to the airport.
We stopped over at Lloyd and Marie's to pick up some free drink coupons for the airplane. We were pretty sure Heidi was going to want them. We were right.
Insert image of the two us crying in the airport. That would be what we are doing now but I left my camera in the car. Luckily I didn't get any pictures of that part.
I already missed her by the time I got home from the airport so I drove just down the street to check out the billboard that she is on. I can see her whenever I want. She is posted on Portland and 512 now but is moving in a few days to a new location. I guess I will have to go on a hunt for the new spot.
I am not sure what we are suppose to do around here with all of them gone. It is going to be a strange adjustment. The good news is that we can fly down and see them or they can fly here and see us. It's another great excuse for a vacation.
