Thanks Megan!!!!!

My poor gnome had an unfortunate accident in the front yard when I picked him up so that I could re-paint him and dropped him on the sidewalk.  Megan spent a week trying to repair his lower half for me.  This little guy sits in our front yard and makes me laugh everytime I pull in the driveway.  He used to sit in my mom and dad's front yard at the house downtown and my Dad gave him to me for a Christmas present a few years ago.  We laughed at him so much for giving the cute little guy to me but I really do like him and he reminds me of some extremely happy times in my life so when I dropped him I just left him there and walked away so that I wouldn't cry.  The good news is that Megan came outside not much later and noticed what I had done and immediately picked him up and started working on his poor legs.
I think she glued herself to a lot of the pieces and luckily it didn't rain for a few days because she made several trips outside to look for more small pieces to fill in.

I was still laughing at how funny he is the whole time she was working on him and I was so excited that he was getting put back together.  I know he isn't the cutest thing and most people don't understand him but he just makes me smile all the time.
Megan did an awesome job and we got the red re-painted so if you don't look at his feet to close he almost looks brand new.  I was so happy he is all better that he now sits on our porch instead of in the bark.  I can't see him as well when I pull in but he is now on solid ground and hopefully won't get tipped over and break again.
Thank you Megan for doctoring him back to health.  He looks perfect and has just a little more character now!!!!!!!

Seattle

We haven't been up to much that is blog worthy since we got back from our California vacation.  We have done a lot of cleaning around the house, stained the deck, painted the porch, been to a few movies and gone on a couple of bike rides but nothing really worth taking pictures so get ready because today we spent the day in Seattle and I got alot of good ones!!!!!
We got up early to make it to the train by 8:12 am.  That is really early for kids on summer break!!
Alex was so happy to be up and out already.  He would prefer to sit on the couch all day with his xbox.
We made it to Seattle at 9:00 am and our first stop, Target.  We had to check out the new "city" Target.  It was huge and the girls were loving the cart escalator.
We headed toward the market next and got cinnamon rolls at the bakery.
Alex in front of one of the fish stands.
So many beautiful flowers.  I love to watch how fast they make them.
We found the gum wall and Megan and Olivia attached their gum to it.
The first Thursday of the month is free at the Seattle Art Museum.  I had to go here so many times when I was going to school so it was fun to go again.
Megan decided to make herself part of the art!!!!
The girls definately need some Art History classes or something.  They don't think this is art and they were having a fit over some of the plain paintings that they said they could do themselves.  This was their favorite.  They think anyone could do it.
Next, we stopped for a drink before heading to the monorail.
We took the monorail over to Seattle Center.  It was alot of fun but we didn't do to much once we got there.
We did walk down to the water fountain.
We also found some fun art displays over by the EMT.
We took the monorail back, ate lunch at the food court, and then headed back down toward the water front.
Megan and I walking across the bridge.
Megan, Alex, and I found a fun waterfall down on the waterfront. After everything down there we walked up to the park and checked out a street fair
We had some time to kill before the train so we went back down to the McDonald's for an ice cream treat.  Afterwards we walked back to the train and headed home.  We had so much fun just walking around being a tourist.  I am not sure how a family can afford to come visit Seattle though.  We figured out  it would have cost us $205 a person to do everything that we had wanted.  I guess since I don't have a spare $800 we will just continue to enjoy the free stuff.  We are having a great summer and still have a few more weeks to enjoy it.  I always said I would hate staying home all the time but I have to say that I have proved myself wrong on that one.  I am having so much fun with the kids.  We have gotten to do so many fun things and it is great to be able to be home with them instead of them spending all day by themselves.  I really do need to win the lottery, I guess  I should probably start buying tickets one of these days!!!!!!
