Pt. Defiance Zoo

We had a very busy day today. We got up this morning (slowly as always) and realized we really had nothing to do for the day and it was suppose to be nice out so Mike decided we should make a trip to the zoo. I really am not sure when I was ata the zoo last but we had a good time and got to see a lot of animals.
We made it!!! We also realized that if you want to park a car at the zoo on one of the only dry days of the year that you should get there before 1:30 in the afternoon. :)

Mike and Megan at one of the 100 exhibits that we saw.

I keep seeing ads on everything for a "scoop on the poop" exhibit so we went and saw that. It was not to impressive.

Some very large wooden shark teeth.

We had to take a snack break and Alex got a hold of the camera.

Megan and I in front of some funny animal. I am not sure which one though.

Megan and Alex at the puffkins

Everyone really like this guy. He was just out walking around like he owned the place.

Those are Sea Otter's behind us if you can't tell. :)

The kids thought it was funny that they were so short next to the life size height of the polar bear.

Alex told us when we pulled in the parking lot that they had Reindeer and I told him he didn't know what he was talking about. I was obviously wrong because here they are. That really ticks me off!!!!!!! :)

This was a big animal but I can't remember what it is. It is behind the guys being goofy.

We went into the bird zone and you could buy a stick with food on it so they would fly right up to you. Megan and Alex both got to hold the stick with the bird on it for awhile.

We were getting ready to head out after our day of fun so I tried to get a picture of the beautiful view but it didn't really work. It was really pretty from here but you can't tell on my picture.

We had a fun time at the zoo and have really enjoyed the weather this weekend. I sure hope that it sticks around for awhile.

I just went there last month and really enjoyed it. They have totally improved the kids area and the water view is fantastic! We have a membership to the Seattle Zoo, so I won't go to Pt. Defiance often, but I wish we could go more. The only killer was the hills....yikes!
