St. Patricks Day

Sometimes I just crack myself up with the dumb things we do around here. Yesterday was St. Patricks Day so we had to go green. We had green milk, green eggs and green butter for breakfast and then I made dinner. My folks used to make corned beef and sauerkraut every year and I always hated it so I decided that after twenty years maybe I would have acquired a taste for it so I went all out. We had corned beef, green potatoes, green french bread, green butter, and green deviled eggs. The corned beef is just as disgusting as I remember and no one else in the house liked it either so we ended up eating green cake with green frosting for our main dish with all of our green side dishes. It was a delicious dinner!!!!!!!
It's all about the green!!!!!!!
We had a really good dinner and the cake was so much better than the corned beef. We won't try to do that again!!!!!

Another choir concert

Megan had another choir concert at school. I feel like we were just at one but we got to go again.
Mike was really excited to be there. He loves to go listen to the beautiful music.
This is Alex's happy face. He really enjoys the music also.
Megan really enjoys it when we try to take her picture during the program. It is fun to watch her try to be serious. I don't think it's in her nature.
They had another good program. It was fun to go and listen to the progress that all of the choirs have made.

Congratulations Mike

Mike got a new job!!!! His Boss is retiring and they posted his job so Mike put in for it and after a couple rounds of interviews they called with the good news that he had gotten the job. As soon as they get Mike's replacement hired he will be able to start and that means his weeks of traveling to Spokane are almost over. He is really excited about the new job and being able to work out of an office instead of traveling all week. He has to start in Marysville until he gets on his own and then he can move his office to Kent which will be nice. His new official title is Fleet Manager. Yeah!!!
We made a cake and had a couple of presents waiting for him when he got home from Spokane on Friday.
Megan put streamers and balloons up all over the house.
He was really excited when he made it home. :)
He had also received a package from the Union Hall. He got his twenty year pin and a certificate.
We gave him a lovely family photo to put on his new desk and a shirt that doesn't have grease stains on it!!!!!
Alex was ready to eat the cake. It was really good.
Everyone is excited for him to get started and see how he likes it. It will be really weird to have him home during the week. I guess we will have to start eating a real dinner. I don't think he would like the chicken nuggets and french fries that the kids and I eat all week.
Congratulations Mike!!!!!!

Vegas, through Megan's eye's!!!!!

I always love to look at all of the pictures that Megan takes. She did another fine job capturing some really good ones while we were in Vegas. Here is a small preview!!!!!
I think this is the one she took out of the sunroof as we drove by. :)

This is just a few of the ones that she took but I really like them. I wish we could go back so that she could get some more!!!!!

Stefanie's 40th Birthday Weekend

We had the best weekend in Las Vegas to celebrate Stefanie's 40th Birthday. We got to do so many fun things and got to see everyone that we haven't seen in way to long. Beware at how long this is. I just couldn't pick which pictures to put on so I put a lot. I had 350 pictures on my camera just from the weekend so I think that I did pretty good with these.
Megan, Alex and I went on Wednesday night. We got cheaper tickets to go on Wednesday night instead of Thursday and it worked out great. It gave us a day to get everything ready for everyone else to arrive.
We spent Thursday at the outlet mall and the grocery store. Bonnie had done most of the shopping for us before we ever got there but we still needed a few last minute items.
We checked into the condo on Thursday evening which gave us just enough time to decorate and put our food away before the Keyes family and Mike arrived on Thursday night.
Stefanie, Jeff and the kids arrived around 9:30 pm Thursday night and we picked Mike up at the airport at 10:30 pm.
We walked all around the strip on Friday during the day. This is the Venetian.
Jeff was really excited to get to spend so much quality time with everyone and he was really excited to get his picture taken with Mike. :)
We are headed out on another adventure. We just roamed around the strip all day long!!!!!
A cool waterfall across the street from the fashion mall.
Megan and Maleah at lunch.
Bonnie and Megan at lunch.
Stefanie, Me, and Dad at lunch. We went to this really good buffet called the "M" that my Dad and Bonnie love. It was a great start to a birthday weekend celebration.
Rena and Grandpa.
We headed down to Freemont Street in the evening. We had lots to do on our agenda for the night.
The light show on Freemont.
Stefanie, Megan and Alex did the zip line the goes all the way down the street. This is Stefanie coming in for the finish.
They all survived.!!!!!
We went back to the strip after Freemont for some night life down there. Stefanie and Megan at the Bellagio water show.
Grandpa, Alex, Bonnie, and Megan at the Bellagio flower garden.
Stefanie, Dad, and Me at the flower display.
Grandpa and Grandma Bonnie with all the kids.
Peggy and Tami arrived from Illinois and the Herren family arrived from California on Friday night.
Saturday morning we went back to the strip to go on the roller coaster at the New York, New York and do some more walking down the strip.
Downstairs at the New York. The roller coaster was so much fun.
Mike, Megan and Stefanie getting something to drink.
We met up with my Uncle Curt's sister, Chris also. She happened to be in town with a friend so we got to spend some time with her. She had driven from Yuma so it was great to get to see her.
Peggy, Tami, Gimi, Me and Stefanie. We are missing Kari. Unfortunately she wasn't able to make it. Hopefully next time they can come also.
Me and Stefanie at the new Cosmopolitan Hotel. It was really nice.
All of the kids together. Cameron is trying to escape.
The girls really liked this huge shoe in the Cosmopolitan.
Mike, Alex and Me.
Gimi, Megan, Stefanie, Haley and Tami waiting outside for our next plan of action.
This is everyone that was with us on Saturday. It was such a fun day. I love it when we have no idea what is going on. We just make plans as the day goes on and hope it all works out. It was so much fun to constantly change what we were doing. We always ended up somewhere fun.
Megan and Alex on one of the many sky bridges that we crossed a million times.
Saturday night we took the kids back to the condo and we all went out. Stefanie, Jeff, Tami, Gimi, Haley and Scott all went to the show "O" and Mike and I went gambling. It was alot of fun and we met back up as soon as the show was over.
Stefanie really wanted a picture in front of the sign. It was packed everytime we drove by but we finally stopped and got her picture.
We had a little birthday party at my Dad and Bonnie's house on Sunday morning for Stefanie. We had cake, ice cream and presents and then all went out for brunch. Mike had to head home in the evening so we had all of our party fun early in the day.
Stefanie and Jeff.
We got there early enough to get some more nice decorations up. I think she was loving the streamers everywhere that we went. :)
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!
Jeff bought her some much needed older person supplies. She was laughing about them but Tami and I both pointed out that she might actually need those before long. I love Bengay and Tami really drinks those ensure drinks.
We sang for the cake three times because Haley's birthday was last week and Rena's is this week so we had one cake and three birthday.
Rena is going to be 8, Haley just turned 18 and we all know Stefanie hit 40.
We went back downtown on Sunday night to watch some more shows and see what all we had missed the night before. Gimi, Haley, Tami, Peggy and Megan all ready for something.
Megan and Scott are only 4 days apart in age so it is always fun to get updated pictures of them together.
Stefanie and Megan in the Caesar's Palace mall.
Outside of Starbucks on our way to the Treasure Island show.
Gimi and Peggy.
Getting ready to go to the Miracle Mile across from the Bellagio and we are all laughing at how my Dad got stuck with all of these girls.
After Peggy and Tami left for the airport on Monday morning we went to eat lunch and open some presents for Rena's birthday before everyone else had to hit the road.
Paul, Scott, Gimi and Haley. They are missing Taylor and Ryan but they are both off at College and couldn't make the trip.
Dad, Bonnie, Stefanie, Jeff, Rena, Maleah and Cameron.
Megan, Alex and I headed home on Tuesday morning and the fun was over.
We had a great weekend and can't wait to get together with everyone and do it again. Hopefully Stefanie had as much fun as the rest of us did.
Happy 40th Birthday Stef!!!!!
